摘要

Soursop (‘Annona muricata’) is an important tropical fruit-bearing plant valued for its economic usefulness in nutrition, medicine, and agriculture. Despite the growing international interest in its medicinal properties, there is a dearth of bibliometric mapping of research output on soursop. This study aimed to evaluate the productivity and impact of research at the global scale and equip researchers with a robust overview of soursop research advances. The Scopus-retrieved dataset was analyzed with the Bibliometrix R package and VOSviewer. A total of 1810 documents contributed by 7088 authors were analyzed. An annual publication growth rate of 5.91% was reported, with an average of 20.07 citations per document. Annual publication production has exhibited a steady growth phase since 2008. Brazil, Indonesia, India, Mexico, and Nigeria were among the most productive countries, while the United States had the highest degree of global collaboration. The Journal of Ethnopharmacology was the most productive and most impactful source, with a total of 53 documents and an H‑index of 34. The most cited author and most impactful author was Hocquemiller R. The analysis revealed that research concepts related to applications of soursop in traditional medicine, especially for cancer management, were fundamental and connected to other research themes. The well-developed themes covered volatile compounds, soursop fruit, and biological activities. Endophytic fungi and micropropagation are emerging concepts. This quantitative approach provides a comprehensive review of soursop research over the past 81 years and identifies the current global trends that can shape future research on soursop conservation, utilization, and value addition.
