<p>The current study was conducted on various physical, chemical, and antioxidant attributes of different parts (arils, flavedo, albedo, and pomace content) of wild genotypes of pomegranate present in various regions of Himachal Pradesh. Significant differences in all tested parameters were found. The highest total phenolics, flavonoids, DPPH free radical scavenging activity, FRAP (ferric reducing antioxidant power), and metal chelating activity were recorded in the flavedo at 27.21–29.47 mg GAE/g, 354.26–456.73 mg QuE/100 g, 80.90–87.37%, 210.74–275.77 μMFe2+/100 g, and 41.94–47.60%, respectively, whereas the lowest values for these parameters were recorded in pomace at 0.30–0.35 mg GAE/g, 8.70–9.55 mg QuE/100 g, 15.40–19.02(%), 1.24–1.57 μMFe2+/100 g, and 11.97–17.40%, respectively. The results showed that the flavedo (peel) of fruit from the Karsog area was rich in ascorbic acid, phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidant activity, which makes flavedo (peel) waste a&#xa0;valuable raw material for processing into various herbal, nutraceutical, and functional food products.</p>
