<p>The bioactive compounds and antioxidant potential of various citrus fruits have garnered attention for their health-promoting properties. Citrus fruits are widely consumed in various forms, with many varieties enjoyed whole or as juice, and all known for promoting good health. This study was carried out to assess and compare the bioactive compounds and antioxidants of the selected citrus fruits and their juices, namely ‘Kinnow’ (<i>Citrus reticulata</i>), ‘Mosambi’ (<i>Citrus Limetta</i>) ‘Galgal’ (<i>Citrus Pseudolimon</i>), ‘grapefruit’ (<i>Citrus Paradise</i>), ‘Malta’ (<i>Orange valencia</i>), ‘lemon’ (<i>Citrus limon</i>) and ‘orange’ (<i>Citrus sinensis</i>)<i>.</i> Selected parameters and their ranges for whole fruits with their juices respectively on fresh weight basis are: ascorbic acid in fruits (20.44 mg/100 g ‘Kinnow’ to 42.23 mg/100 g ‘Malta’) and juices (12.23 mg/100 g ‘Kinnow’ to 29.44 mg/100 g ‘Malta’), total phenols in fruits (215.84 GAE/100 g lemon to 431 mg GAE/100 g ‘Malta’) and juices (106.75 mg GAE/100 g ‘Mosambi’ to 296 mg GAE/100 g ‘Kinnow’), flavonoids (21.59 mg QE/100 g ‘Mosambi’ to 71.25 mg QE/100 g ‘Galgal’) and juices (23.27 mg QE/100 g ‘lemon’ to 55.09 mg QE/100 g ‘Kinnow’), anthocyanins (0.13 mg/100 g ‘Kinnow’ to 0.92 mg/100 g ‘Mosambi’) for juices (2.07 mg/100 g ‘lemon’ to 8.15 mg/100 g ‘Mosambi’), carotenoids (0.78 mg/100 g ‘Mosambi’ to 21.32 mg/100 g ‘Galgal’) and juices (0.70 mg/100 g ‘orange’ to 21.23 mg/100 g ‘Galgal’), limonoids (1.45% ‘grapefruit’ to 7.46% ‘Galgal’) and juices (1.66% ‘Malta’ to 8.50% ‘Galgal’), essential oils (0.18% ‘lemon’ to 3.46% ‘Mosambi’) and juices (0.16% ‘lemon’ to 2.44% ‘Galgal’) and antioxidant activity (27.12% ‘orange’ to 56.91% ‘grapefruit’) and juices (24.31% ‘Kinnow’ to 31.84% ‘lemon’). This comparison can be beneficial for the formulation of specific dietary recommendations for individuals and an exploration of their potential health benefits or applications in pharmaceuticals or functional foods.</p>
