<p>In 2023, leaves and flower bracts with brown spots and black specks were observed on <i>Curcuma alismatifolia</i> (Siam tulip) in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. A fungus isolated from diseased leaves was identified as <i>Colletotrichum curcumae</i> based on morphological characteristics and molecular analysis of ITS, <i>ACT</i>, <i>CHS-1</i>, <i>GAPDH</i>, and <i>TUB2</i> sequences. Pathogenicity tests confirmed that <i>C. curcumae</i> was the etiological agent of the disease. This report is the first on Siam tulip anthracnose (tanso-byo) caused by <i>C. curcumae</i> in Japan. </p>

摘要

In 2023, leaves and flower bracts with brown spots and black specks were observed on Curcuma alismatifolia (Siam tulip) in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.
