摘要

A virus vector is a powerful tool for the functional characterization of genes regulating agronomic traits in plants. We demonstrated the inefficient systemic movement of cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) -A1 vector, while the restoration of the full-length 2b was found to confer efficient systemic movement in potatoes. We noted that the CMV-G2 vector carrying the full-length 2b and a cloning site immediately after the 2b termination codon may be employed as a virus-induced gene silencing vector. This study demonstrated that the CMV vector can be used for the VIGS vector in potatoes.
