Root rot and chlorotic leaves were found on poorly growing, potted forget-me-nots (Myosotis sp.) in commercial greenhouses in Nara Prefecture, Japan. The pathogen causing the symptoms was identified as Globisporangium irregulare based on morphological characteristics, effect of temperature on mycelial growth rate, and ITS and COX1 sequences. This is the first report of G. irregulare causing root rot of forget-me-nots in the world.
