Correction To: “EPC: MATLAB software to estimate Euler pole parameters”
摘要
This is an erratum to address a recently found typographical error in the Jacobian matrix used for transforming the covariance matrix of the estimated Euler pole parameters (EPPs) from the Earth-Centered Earth-Fixed Cartesian Coordinate System (ECEF CCS) to the spherical Latitude-Longitude and Magnitude of rotation (LLM) system in the Euler Pole Calculator (EPC) software. It is shown that, while the core Euler vector estimation remains unaffected, the sigma of the latitude in the LLM system is the only reported parameter by the software that gets affected. The updated EPC software (v2.1) implements the revised Jacobian while preserving the original validated algorithms for estimating EPPs. This short paper aims to formally document this correction, clarify its impact, and reaffirm the commitment to provide a robust and accurate tool for the scientific community. The updated EPC software (v2.1) is publicly available at https://sourceforge.net/projects/epcalc/.
