Association of RANK polymorphisms with the susceptibility of peri-implantitis in Chinese Han population
摘要
The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of rs3018362 and rs35211496 polymorphisms in the RANK gene and analyze their roles in peri-implantitis (PI) susceptibility in the Chinese Han population. A total of 302 subjects were enrolled in our study, including 150 PI patients and 152 healthy controls who also received dental implant treatment. The comparison of different groups on rs3018362 and rs35211496 polymorphisms was analyzed by the Chi-square test. The association between the RANK polymorphisms and PI susceptibility was evaluated by odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Besides, the correlation between RANK polymorphisms and PI susceptibility was adjusted by other clinical characteristics. The TC genotype and T allele in rs35211496 were significantly diminished in the group of PI patients and the decreased tendency increased the overall risks of suffering PI. After adjusting all collected parameters and demographics, individuals with TC genotype and T allele in rs35211496 also showed the susceptibility of PI. No significant association was found between the rs3018362 polymorphism of the RANK gene and PI. Rs35211496 polymorphism of the RANK gene was closely correlated with the risks of PI in the Chinese Han population while the rs3018362 polymorphism showed no difference between patients with PI and healthy controls.
