<p>Chemical grouting materials, especially urea–formaldehyde (UF) resin slurry, are commonly used to control the flow of groundwater in mining-affected strata and reinforce roadways. We investigated whether the UF slurry and its reaction products might be adversely affecting groundwater quality. A dynamic seepage reaction system was developed and used to conduct constant-flow, long-term percolation tests. The results indicate that UF slurry and its reaction products can adversely affect groundwater quality, although the contaminants gradually break down.</p>
