<p>Supporting children’s development during preschool-aged years is important for fostering children’s mathematical growth. While most programs focus on general premath skill development, there is limited research exploring the specific impact of targeted training on early mathematics components. A sample of 161 preschool children aged 5 to 6 participated in an intervention over an 8-week period. They were divided into one of three intervention groups, a tablet-based visuospatial abilities (VSA) training group (Spa-Tab) (<i>n</i> = 53), a tablet-based numerical abilities training group (Num-Tab) (<i>n</i> = 52), and a number board game group focused on numerical abilities (Num-Board) (<i>n</i> = 56). Near-transfer effects across two domains were found: the Spa-Tab group showed improvement in visuospatial skills, while the Num-Tab group improved in numerical relations skills. Further findings on the effect of training content and format are discussed. Together, the results highlight the importance of tailored interventions to address different components of early mathematics.</p>
