<p>News websites play a crucial role in providing timely, accessible, and diverse information to a global audience, shaping public opinion, and fostering informed decision-making. This paper investigates the readability of news websites by analyzing the relevance of both textual and graphical content. We compute the alignment between the image text and the surrounding webpage content using OCR and cosine similarity by applying a previously proposed relevancy-based methodology. Fifty prominent news websites were evaluated for their textual and graphical readability, focusing on image relevancy and its impact on user comprehension. Our findings indicate that relevant, high-quality images significantly improve overall readability, whereas irrelevant or poor-quality images reduce user comprehension. The results offer insights into how web developers and designers can optimize content readability by improving the alignment between images and text, ultimately enhancing user experience on news platforms.</p>
