摘要

We study (dis)trust behavior in terms of uncertainty attitudes and perceptions of uncertainty. We apply Gul and Pesendorfer (J Econ Theory 159:465-488, 2015) [Hurwicz expected utility and subjective sources. Journal of Economic Theory, 159, 465-488.] to various trust games, including context dependence, communication, and social pressure. We provide a positive analysis of these trust games, complement some experimental studies, and discuss the role of perceptions of uncertainty. In addition, regarding uncertainty attitudes, we show that as trustors become more uncertainty-averse, they also become more distrustful. We also incorporate social preferences into the model. We show that inequity-averse preferences can promote distrust behavior, while utilitarian-type efficiency preferences can mitigate distrust behavior.
