<p>This paper presents an extensive overview of the Special Issue (SI) of the Clean Technology and Environmental Policy (CTEP) journal, dedicated to showcasing advanced research and innovative contributions in the fields of clean technology and sustainability. The issue incorporates a carefully curated selection of research articles originating from the 19th SDEWES Conference held during September 8th to 12th in Rome, Italy, as well as the 4th Latin American SDEWES Conference during January 14th to 17th in Vina del Mar, Chile, and the 2nd Asia Pacific SDEWES Conference during April 2nd to 5th in Gold Coast, Australia. These conferences serve as a renowned platform for researchers and practitioners to present cutting-edge advancements and solutions aimed at promoting sustainable development across multiple sectors. Aligned with CTEP’s commitment to disseminating high-quality research, the guest editors of this SI extended invitations to the authors of 30 distinguished research articles presented during the SDEWES 2024 conference. These invited articles underwent a rigorous peer review process to ensure their alignment with the journal’s stringent quality standards and the thematic scope of the SI. Following this thorough evaluation, 23 outstanding papers were selected for publication. These papers collectively represent a diverse array of topics, methodologies, and findings, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the SDEWES community’s work. This overview provides a succinct summary of each of the 23 accepted papers, highlighting their key contributions and relevance to the broader field of CTEP. Furthermore, this paper situates these contributions within a broader context by examining the ongoing research efforts of the SDEWES community as documented in previous SIs. Through this comprehensive approach, the overview not only underscores the innovative and impactful nature of the current research but also illustrates the evolution of scholarly efforts within the SDEWES community over time. The insights presented in this SI are anticipated to inspire future research and practical applications, fostering advancements in sustainable development and environmental management practices globally.</p>
