Bone and joint infections due to Aeromonas spp. in a tropical setting: a multicenter cohort
摘要
Aeromonas are water- and soil-borne bacteria rarely reported in Bone and Joint Infections (BJIs). In this multicenter cohort of 34 patients, Aeromonas BJIs were frequently associated with open fractures and high complication (62%) including a 41% amputation rate. These findings support considering Aeromonas spp. among potential pathogens following soil- or water-contaminated open fractures in tropical settings.
