摘要

Streptococcus suis (S. suis) infection has been reported globally. The fatal cases always presented the streptococcal toxic shock-like syndrome, with multiple organ failure and blood spots, similar to the thrombocytopenia associated multiple organ failure (TAMOF). However, reports of S. suis infection complicated by TAMOF remained scarce. The differential diagnoses and management of TAMOF were notably challenging. We reported a 59-year-old male suffered S. suis infection complicated by TAMOF. By the treatment of plasmapheresis, antibiotics, continuous renal replacement therapy, and dexamethasone, this patient was discharged. During the one-year follow-up, he remained asymptomatic with normal laboratory findings.
