<p>Cortical laminar necrosis (CLN) is a lasting brain injury distinguished by high-intensity cortical lesions on T1-weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) that adhere to the gyral anatomy of the cerebral cortex. We report a case of convulsive status epilepticus following COVID-19 infection. When the brain MRI scan was performed 58 days after convulsive status epilepticus, cortical T1 hyperintensities and SWI linear gyral hypointensities involving both the cerebral hemispheres, indicative of CLN. This case highlights the typical MRI findings of CLN, SWIsequences may be particularly useful in understanding the pathophysiology of hypoxic CLN.</p>
