KI-gestützte Navigation in der endovaskulären Chirurgie und Echtzeit-Bildanalyse
摘要
Artificial intelligence (AI) has proven indispensable in our increasingly digital world and will also change vascular surgery. The use of AI has the potential to reduce the workload in vascular surgery through improvement of the navigation while also lowering radiation exposure for patients and surgeons.
Research questionThe study investigated the assessment of the benefits and maturity of AI in autonomously guided procedures as well as for image enhancement and simulation, in order to increase efficiency and reduce radiation exposure.
MethodsThis article highlights the current state of science with respect to AI-assisted navigation in minimally invasive vascular surgery. Using the example of the PATRONUS simulator, possibilities for patient-specific simulation of endovascular procedures using AI are considered.
ResultsFully autonomous navigation systems for endovascular procedures represent a promising vision for the future but one that is associated with major technical and regulatory challenges.
ConclusionThe use of AI in vascular surgery will initially be limited to low-threshold areas of application. As an aid in simulated procedures AI increases the accuracy and enables patient specificity.
