Development of a high-purity potassium bromide certified reference material (KRISS CRM 104-02-007) as a primary standard for bromide analysis
摘要
Bromide certified reference materials (CRMs) play a vital role in meeting regulatory standards and protecting human health. In this work, we developed a high-purity potassium bromide CRM to serve as a primary standard for bromide analysis. The certified values were determined by subtracting the chloride amount content, identified as the only significant impurity and measured via ion chromatography, from the total halide amount content measured by coulometric titration. Notably, this study presents a method for incorporating silver electrode purity into current efficiency and provides optimized drying conditions (500 °C for 6 h) to minimize residual moisture. The resulting certified bromide amount content and its associated expanded uncertainty (k = 2) were (8.4026 ± 0.0015) mol/kg. The developed CRM is expected to serve as a high-level metrological reference, providing a basis for accurate and traceable bromide analysis and the value assignment of related reference materials, with lower uncertainties compared to those of currently available standards.
