摘要

Patient-reported outcomes measures (PROMs) are an emerging tool for monitoring patients during treatment. During acute treatment, PROMs can be used to identify toxicities and deterioration in function and quality of life as early as possible, allowing for early intervention. They can also be used during follow-up to improve symptom management and patient-provider interaction, and as a quality management tool. The growing body of evidence on the use of PROMs in clinical practice has been compiled by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Working Group on PROMs and prepared in a Clinical Practice Guideline. This article presents the key recommendations of this guideline.
