Hypomagnesiämie induziertes cerebelläres Syndrom (HICS)
摘要
We present a patient with acute cerebellar syndrome and discuss possible differential diagnoses. After ruling out the “usual suspects,” we made the diagnosis of “hypomagnesemia-induced cerebellar syndrome (HiCS).” HiCS is a relatively unknown condition that can be caused by long-term use of proton pump inhibitors, various other medications, chronic diarrhea, and/or malnutrition. Discontinuing the causative medications and supplementation of magnesium (along with other electrolytes and vitamins) improve cerebellar symptoms.
