<p>The increasing number of dementia cases affects the psychological and physical health of family caregivers and calls for more support services for the informal care sector. However, informal caregivers often lack easily accessible and scientifically sound information and support services to reduce their burden. In this context digital services can help to improve the quality of life of those affected and reduce the burden on caregivers . In this article, we discuss how the use of digital solutions can improve the quality of care for people with dementia and the quality of life of caregivers. We report about an international research project which aimed at developing an app for informal caregivers for people with dementia. We interviewed a dementia expert and a family caregiver who tested the app.</p>
