<p>Under the Hurd–Mori reaction conditions, semicarbazones of 4-acetylfurancarboxylates and 4-oxo-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrobenzofurancarboxylates are converted into 1,2,3-thiadiazolylfurancarboxylates or furo[1,2,3]benzothiadiazolecarboxylates. The structure of the synthesized heterocycles is characterized by a set of spectral methods and by X-ray diffraction analysis.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
