<p>An efficient and convenient synthesis protocol has been established for the synthesis of <i>α</i>,<i>β</i>-unsaturated <i>β</i>-aminoketones from enaminone reacting with various substituted aromatic amines by using inexpensive and non-toxic ( ±)-10-camphorsulfonic acid as a catalyst. A total of twelve <i>α</i>,<i>β</i>-unsaturated <i>β</i>-aminoketones were synthesized by using the new protocol with good to excellent yields. The present protocol overcome the drawbacks of earlier protocols involving metal-based catalysts which have poor functional group tolerance, high sensitivity to moisture and air along with high cost and difficulty in recovery/recycling. Moreover, this methodology provided shorter reaction time, wide range substrate scope, easy workup, and scalability.</p> Graphical abstract <p></p>
