摘要

This systematic review analyses global drought research trends using meteorological, hydrological, and statistical models. Following PRISMA guidelines, 162 articles were included from 501 initially screened articles in the review. The study highlights the importance of “drought” as a major environmental topic over the past 30 years, with 129 keywords appearing. “Groundwater drought” (71) and “meteorological drought” (62) “agricultural drought (57)” and “vegetation drought (49)” were also frequently mentioned, indicating growing concern about the drought phenomena. The study emphasizes the progressive development of drought indices and their applications. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence techniques in drought forecasting has also been investigated, explaining how they may enhance responsiveness and accuracy. In an era of growing climatic unpredictability, the innovative conclusion of this research is the fusion of conventional and sophisticated approaches, opening the door to a more effective drought inventory that supports resource management and decision-making against the adverse impact of drought.
