摘要

Transgender adolescents are becoming increasingly visible in society and the media, which is probably also related to rising numbers of referrals to specialized gender identity services as well as controversial debates surrounding this phenomenon. In addition, there are other important current developments in this field of research that have not yet been sufficiently explored. Overall, current research results underscore that transgender adolescents form a heterogeneous group with different clinical characteristics, treatment courses and wishes, as well as gender identities.
