The fabrication of novel Ce-MOGs with effective nitrite detection performance in food

A novel Ce based metal-organic gel (MOG) material, based on the organic linker of tetrafluoroterephthalic acid is reported. The homogeneous transparent gel, named Ce-MOG, could be obtained through hydrothermal synthesis. Further investigation demonstrated that Ce-MOG exhibited effective nitrite (NO2−) detection in kimchi, milk, pickles, sausage and spinach. Furthermore, the detection of NO2− was investigated over a concentration range 10− 7 to 10 mM, with a linear response observed between 7 µM and 3.0 mM. The LOD towards NO2− in the simulated conditions was 7.79 µM. Anti-interference experiment manifested that the LOD towards NO2− was almost unaffected by the actual testing environment.
