摘要

Effects of conical bit rotation on bit wear and rock cutting efficiency were investigated at a fixed skew angle of 12° to eliminate contributions from other skew angle-related cutting parameters.

Two types of conical bits, B2 and S1, with different geometric shape and surface area were compared in a series of cutting tests using a self-designed bench-scale rock cutting machine.

Bit temperature, bit wear, and rock cutting efficiency were investigated systematically to determine the conical bit type with better rock cutting efficiency.
