Purpose <p>Acetabular fractures represent complex injuries requiring specialized management. Despite extensive literature, the most influential publications in this field have not been comprehensively analyzed. This study aims to identify and analyze the 100 most cited articles on acetabular fractures.</p> Methods <p>The Web of Science Core Collection 100 most cited articles related to acetabular fractures were identified according to citation count, publication year, journal, country of origin, and thematic focus.</p> Results <p>The 100 most cited articles were published between 1980 and 2020, received 65 to 962 citations. Most studies originated from North America and Europe. Main themes were quality of reduction, surgical approaches, percutaneous fixation, posterior wall fractures, epidemiology, total hip arthroplasty, complications and 3D imaging.</p> Conclusion <p>This bibliometric analysis highlights the most influential articles in acetabular fractures, provides an overview of the main concepts in the management in this setting and can serve as essential reading material for surgeons in training.</p>

Purpose

Acetabular fractures represent complex injuries requiring specialized management. Despite extensive literature, the most influential publications in this field have not been comprehensively analyzed. This study aims to identify and analyze the 100 most cited articles on acetabular fractures.

Methods

The Web of Science Core Collection 100 most cited articles related to acetabular fractures were identified according to citation count, publication year, journal, country of origin, and thematic focus.

Results

The 100 most cited articles were published between 1980 and 2020, received 65 to 962 citations. Most studies originated from North America and Europe. Main themes were quality of reduction, surgical approaches, percutaneous fixation, posterior wall fractures, epidemiology, total hip arthroplasty, complications and 3D imaging.

Conclusion
