<p><i>Capillaria</i> <i>plica</i>, which is also referred to as <i>Pearsonema plica</i>, is a nematode belonging to the Capillariidae family, predominantly affecting wild carnivorous species and exhibiting a low prevalence in domesticated animals. The identification of urinary capillariasis in canines is frequently an incidental observation during clinical assessments. This case study details the infection of a 1-year-old neutered Shih Tzu Terrier residing in Shiraz, Iran, which exhibited symptoms of lethargy, anorexia, ataxia, and pollakiuria. Diagnostic methodologies, including the analysis of urine sediment, successfully identified <i>C. plica</i> ova via microscopic examination. The therapeutic regimen implemented involved the administration of fenbendazole at a dosage of 50&#xa0;mg/kg at predetermined intervals, culminating in the successful elimination of the infection and the resolution of the clinical manifestations. This report highlights the importance of recognizing parasitic infections in domestic animals presenting with urinary disorders and stresses the urgent need for additional epidemiological studies in areas such as Iran, where the prevalence of such infections remains inadequately documented.</p>
