Empirische Modelle zur Vorhersage der Überlebensraten von Fischen in Kaplan-Turbinen
摘要
Various options are available to protect fish from turbine induced damage, including mechanical barriers, behavioural barriers, electrical deterrents or ecological measures. Information on the survival rates of different fish species and life stages during turbine passage is a valuable tool in identifying appropriate fish protection measures.
Several empirical formulae are available for Kaplan turbines, but their application is limited because the underlying data and development process are poorly documented.
The main objective of this study was therefore to develop empirical formulae based on a transparent design process and using simple or known parameters. Based on data from 276 in situ injection experiments available in the technical and “grey” literature, we developed several new formulas for estimating fish survival and ranked them according to their probability.
The newly developed formulae can predict fish survival during turbine passage with sufficient accuracy. They confirm the known correlations with fish size and turbine parameters, but also suggest the influence of other factors such as fish shape and physiology.
