摘要

The Extendable Belt System (EBS), also known as the PO140, serves as a continuous conveyor system for mining straight underground rooms.

The EBS is designed for use in chambers/pillars (long-chamber mining) as well as for driving the main drifts. During the mining process, the EBS transports the material from the cutting machine to the fixed panel-conveyor belt. It also serves as a continuous conveyor system during retreat.

The machine is designed for continuous mining over long distances without the need for downtime for conveyor system extension, except for belt refilling and emptying (due to the belt connections). Depending on the deposit, infrastructure, and local regulations, the maximum length may vary from customer to customer. For the planned site, the maximum length was limited to 2400 m, based on the power calculation of the EBS main drive belt station.

The continuous extension and retraction of the system is achieved by a permanently installed belt storage and the mobile part of the system, which consists of several segments.

The EBS is suitable for use behind a full-face machine (due to its cutting performance), which loads the EBS directly via a bridge conveyor through a transfer chute on the mobile part of the system.

Furthermore, the EBS is also required as a support system for the power supply and ventilation of the mining advance.

System length at start: 180 m

Maximum system length: 2400 m

Maximum conveying capacity: 2400 t/h

Minimum required width: 6300 mm

Status:

2017–2021: Field test in a rock salt mine in Germany

From 2022: Production and delivery to the end customer in Canada.

System installation and start-up: From April 2026 in Canada onwards
