<p>The Montanuniversität Leoben has set itself the goal of coordinating and intensifying research in the field of energy in the form of an energy excellence cluster in order to meet the challenges of the urgently needed transformation of the energy system.</p><p>The objectives of the Energy Excellence Cluster are to enhance external visibility among prospective students, the research community, and industry. The aim is to raise the profile of the Montanuniversität Leoben as an institution with expertise in energy research in order to strengthen domestic industry with energy innovations from Austria and achieve market leadership in the field of energy. As part of an initial systematic survey of energy-related research projects, more than 160 projects were identified involving researchers equivalent to over 150 full-time positions.</p>
