摘要

Concrete is a globally accepted construction material which, however, is increasingly under scrutiny in the context of sustainability and climate discussions. This article highlights the key aspects regarding the production of sustainable and climate-friendly ready-mixed concretes. The normative and practice-relevant framework conditions for the application of recycled aggregates are presented. Another focus is on the Global Warming Potential (GWP) reduction of concrete, particularly through the use of low-clinker cements or clinker-reduced binders according to the ECPC concept. With reference to Wopfinger Transportbeton Ges.m.b.H., examples for the production of recycled and CO2-reduced concretes are presented. Finally, the increasing engineering requirements for the production of sustainable concretes are discussed, and the example of a “Next Generation Concrete Plant” is presented as a basis for future sustainable concrete innovations.
