<p>From a&#xa0;relational analytical and field theoretical perspective, supervision should provide a&#xa0;model-like experience of how, in the dynamic interplay between alert presence and reflection, the focus lies on the willingness to become involved and to make oneself available. It encompasses the sharpening of bodily and psychological perception and receptiveness, the affective understanding of emotional urgency and stands on equal footing with cognitive and interpretive abilities. A resonant, questioning and responsive engagement with the non-identical other and continuous inward self-reflection, are the instruments with which the interpsychic, intersubjective and interpersonal dimensions can be grasped and considered in a&#xa0;differentiated manner within the analytical exchange process. The developmental steps that enabled transformation and psychological maturation are illustrated by two case vignettes and could be permitted in both protagonists.</p>
