<p>Using Green’s concept of the dead mother complex as the main reference, the author explores the question of how traumatic breakdowns of the early affect dialog imprint in the psyche and how to treat them. Together with Green, the author emphasizes that a&#xa0;nonsymbolic structure is present here, resulting from a&#xa0;collapse of the inner space in which subject and object fuse in a&#xa0;toxic way. The author also follows Green’s impulse to adopt a&#xa0;more active analytical stance with respect to the treatment technique; however, the activity of somatic narration that the author proposes does not refer to the analyst’s liveliness but to actively bring the encapsulated body engrams (Leikert <CitationRef CitationID="CR12">2021</CitationRef>) into the realm of the analytic relationship and to accompany their exploration discreetly and with one’s own bodily resonance. The analyst remains completely in the background and privileges the material of the analysand. A&#xa0;case report shows how the analysand finds a way out of the toxic fusion with the dead mother through this modus operandi and achieves a&#xa0;primary separation that enables the emergence of an autonomous emotional self.</p>
