Using Green’s concept of the dead mother complex as the main reference, the author explores the question of how traumatic breakdowns of the early affect dialog imprint in the psyche and how to treat them. Together with Green, the author emphasizes that a nonsymbolic structure is present here, resulting from a collapse of the inner space in which subject and object fuse in a toxic way.
