<p>With reference to a&#xa0;case report the reinforced enmeshment of individual and social traumatization is illustrated. The fragmentation of memories, the relationship between explicit and implicit memories as well as individual and social dissociative processes are described. The influence on ego functions, mentalization, reality testing and self-experience as well as the parallels between social and individual dynamics, are discussed.</p>
