<p>China has been facing a&#xa0;unique situation of upheaval which involves social phenomena in the population as a&#xa0;whole as well as in individuals, influencing their unconscious structures and perceptions. In the light of a&#xa0;recently described disease pattern in Chinese literature, the so-called “empty heart disease” (<CitationRef CitationID="CR8">2016</CitationRef>), an attempt is made to understand this with regard to the multiple transformation processes that the Chinese society has undergone so far and to clarify whether this can be viewed as a&#xa0;phenomenon specific to China.</p>

摘要

China has been facing a unique situation of upheaval which involves social phenomena in the population as a whole as well as in individuals, influencing their unconscious structures and perceptions. In the light of a recently described disease pattern in Chinese literature, the so-called “empty heart disease” (2016), an attempt is made to understand this with regard to the multiple transformation processes that the Chinese society has undergone so far and to clarify whether this can be viewed as a phenomenon specific to China.
