Survey on voice feminization surgery: current practices, assessment techniques, and postoperative outcomes
摘要
The demand for gender-affirming surgery among transfeminine individuals is increasing, with voice feminization surgery (VFS) emerging as a key component of comprehensive care. This international survey among members of the International Association of TransVoice Surgeons (IATVS) explores current practices in VFS.
MethodsData were collected from 24 phonosurgeons via an online questionnaire in August and September 2024. The study examines surgical techniques, preoperative assessments, postoperative care, and the management of complications.
ResultsWendler glottoplasty and its variants are the dominant current surgical approaches. However, preoperative and postoperative protocols vary significantly.
ConclusionsThe findings highlight the need for standardized guidelines and underscore areas for further research to optimize patient outcomes.
