Identifying determinants of treatment failure with intralesional meglumine antimoniate in patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis
摘要
Meglumine antimoniate (MA), the current treatment for Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) fails in many cases. We thus determined the rate and determinants of this treatment failure by a prospective study, in which 180 CL patients were selected using simple non-random sampling method. All lesions were completely cured in 127 patients (74.7%) but treatment failed in 43 patients (25.3%). Male sex and lesions on the face were the only factors associated with treatment failure.
