摘要

The mortality in cardiogenic shock remains high. In conventional treament refractory situations, temporary mechanical circulatory support (tMCS) devices can be utilized. They differ in the type and capacity of cardiocirculatory and the option of additional pulmonary support. Evidence is still partially limited. A patient-specific tMCS treatment is essential taking the individual cardiopulmonary needs, the level of invasiveness and the risk of complications into account. Additionally, logistical and center-related factors are important. Utilization of tMCS devices requires a high level of interdisciplinary expertise with respect to the implantation and the subsequent treatment process. Considerations regarding tMCS treatment centers or networks will be necessary in the future.
