<p>In corneal defects that are difficult to heal, such as a&#xa0;treatment refractory corneal ulcer but also in cases of deep vascularized corneal scarring, various nonpenetrating surgical treatment strategies can be employed, which can result in a&#xa0;significant improvement of corneal findings and patient satisfaction without extensive surgical efforts. Based on three clinical cases examples surgical interventions are shown that were effective with little effort and can be considered in the routine clinical practice for similar cases.</p>
