The enhanced properties of liquid crystals (LCs) are required for the development of technological applications, which are obtained by mixing guest entities into them. Here, we report the synthesis of SeO \(_2\) /Mo \(_{15}\) Se \(_{19}\) nanocomposite (NC) and its mixing with the 5CB LC material in different concentrations. We have measured the frequency and temperature-dependent dielectric parameters such as dielectric permittivity, dielectric loss, and dielectric loss factor for pure 5CB and the mixture (SeO \(_2\) /Mo \(_{15}\) Se \(_{19}\) NC+5CB). We have observed a significant increase in the dielectric parameters for the mixture of NC-LC compared to the pure 5CB LC. These changes may be due to the high carrier mobility of the SeO \(_2\) /Mo \(_{15}\) Se \(_{19}\) NC. We have also observed that the dielectric anisotropy of the pure 5CB LC material decreases with increasing concentration of SeO \(_2\) /Mo \(_{15}\) Se \(_{19}\) NC. These results may be useful for applications that are based on the presence of ions.
