Comparative investigation on the physical properties of NiO/Ni nanocomposites using different synthesis techniques
摘要
NiO/Ni nanocomposites were prepared using four different methods to evaluate the effect of the preparation method on the properties of the obtained powder. All samples were characterised using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), High-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM), Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), and UV-visible spectroscopy. All samples crystallized in cubic symmetry. The results revealed that the band gaps were found to be 3.68 eV, 3.72 eV, 3.70 eV, 3.70 eV, and 3.72 eV, respectively. The obtained nanoparticles showed ferromagnetic behaviour, which is not observed in NiO previously prepared by other researchers. This unexpected behaviour is attributed to the co-presence of two phases.
