Fabrication of MoS2–PVDF composite sheet for pressure sensing application
摘要
This study presents a novel, simple, cost-effective, and scalable method for the fabrication of MoS2–PVDF composite sheet, which can be used as a pressure sensor. MoS2 of the 2H phase was synthesized using the hydrothermal technique. FESEM images show that the nano-ribbons of MoS2 agglomerated to form flower-like structures. PVDF matrix filled with these flower-like microstructures shows good pressure response due to the deformation of the microstructures with pressure. We explored different thicknesses of the sheet and various mixing ratios of the MoS2 and PVDF to study the pressure response of the MoS2–PVDF composite sheet with loading and unloading pressure. The MoS2–PVDF composite sheet shows pressure response over a wide range of pressure from 0–300 kPa. Sensitivity is higher in the lower pressure region from 0–25 kPa than the sensitivity at the high-pressure region from 100–300 kPa. The sensitivity is 34.5 ± 1.6 MPa-1 for 70µm thick sheet in the pressure region from 0–25 kPa, while the sensitivity is 0.17 ± 0.03 MPa-1 for loading pressure from 100–300kPa. This sheet will be a potential candidate for a pressure sensor where a wide working range of pressure is needed.
