Spatial ordering of excitons in the germanium/silicon nanosystems with germanium quantum dots

It was theoretically predicted that the interaction of spatially indirect excitons possessing dipole moments with the exciting radiation field in the infrared range caused the orientational ordering of the dipole moments of spatially indirect excitons in the germanium quantum dots chains. It is shown for the first time that self-organization of spatially indirect excitons led to the emergence of positive feedback in the response of the nanosystem to an external electric field. This effect led to the fact that the polarization induced by the dipole moments of excitons significantly enhances the macroscopic electric field of the nanosystem.
