摘要

Encapsulation technology has revolutionized the delivery and protection of active ingredients across diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, agriculture, and cosmetics. By enclosing sensitive compounds within a protective matrix, encapsulation enhances stability, bioavailability, and enables controlled and targeted release. This review comprehensively analyzes the forefront of encapsulation science, detailing advances in key techniques, such as spray drying, coacervation, emulsification, and nanoprecipitation, and the critical role of material selection, from natural and synthetic polymers to lipids and inorganic compounds. Despite its significant advantages, the field grapples with challenges in scalability, cost-effectiveness, and the environmental impact of certain materials. To address these, future efforts must pivot toward sustainable and biodegradable alternatives, hybrid methods, and the integration of nanotechnology. As research continues to overcome these hurdles, encapsulation is poised to underpin the next generation of advanced, efficient, and eco-conscious delivery systems in modern industry.
