Syntheses of polyimides copolymers from BPTPCDA and diamines having rigid aromatic and flexible linear moieties in the backbone
摘要
Polyimides were successfully prepared by a condensation polymerization of benzophenone-3,3’, 4,4’-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPTCDA) in dimethylformamide (DMF) as solvent having flexible, symmetrical or non-symmetrical moieties in the main chain with a minimal loss in thermal and mechanical properties. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) confirm the incorporation of the diamine groups into the backbone in random sequence. By a typical casting procedure, membranes were prepared over a glass fiber cloth showing good mechanical properties for potential applications where mechanical strength must be high either in tear or in stress.
