<p>This study aims to develop a biocomposite film for extending the shelf life of bananas. The film is composed of polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT) blended with titanium dioxide (TiO₂) (0.25–3.00&#xa0;wt%) and plant extracts, namely aloe vera or apple extract, at concentrations of 0.25–1.00&#xa0;phr. Film samples were prepared by melt blending and processed using film casting. Key properties, including thermal stability, barrier performance, antibacterial activity, mechanical strength, and storage life, were thoroughly investigated. The results indicate that TiO₂ enhanced the thermal and barrier properties of the films while also providing antibacterial activity, extending the shelf life of bananas by up to 15&#xa0;days. Among the formulations, PBAT/TiO₂ 0.50&#xa0;wt% exhibited optimal characteristics with low opacity, allowing for better display of fruit quality. Consequently, this composition was selected for further blending with plant extracts. The addition of aloe vera and apple extracts further improved the films antioxidant and antimicrobial activities, leading to an extended shelf life of bananas compared to films without plant extracts. Notably, PBAT film containing 0.50 wt% TiO₂ and 1.00&#xa0;phr apple extract demonstrated the highest antioxidant and antimicrobial activity, extending the shelf life of bananas to 19–20&#xa0;days. The polyphenols present in the plant extracts played a crucial role in enhancing antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. Additionally, TiO₂ contributed to slowing banana deterioration by preventing bacterial contamination and mitigating the ripening process induced by ethylene.</p>
