摘要
Lactobacilli are among the most common human microbiota with several beneficial effects, such as antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and anti-proliferative activities. Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) is a micro-aerophilic, acid-tolerant, and non-spore forming lactobacilli with low G C content with a variety of applications in the food industry serving as a starter culture and preservative. This microorganism is among the most studied members of microbiota in terms of cancer treatment, including colorectal, breast, oral and gastric cancers, using various methods, such as animal models, cell lines, and in vitro studies. This review is focused on the studies addressing its application in various malignancies.
