Strain N149-9T had the highest average nucleotide identity (ANI, 93.5–93.6%) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH, 52.4%) values with <i>L. parakribbianus</i> YH-lacS6T, less than the threshold for species demarcation, indicating that it represented a novel species within the genus <i>Lacticaseibacillus</i>. 摘要

A novel bacterium of the genus Lacticaseibacillus (designated as N149-9T) was isolated from traditional Chinese pickle (‘Suan cai’), and was identified by a polyphasic taxonomic approach. Phylogenies based on 16S rRNA, pheS, rpoA, concatenated pheS and rpoA, and whole genome sequences indicated that strain N149-9T was related to the type strains of Lacticaseibacillus parakribbianus, Lacticaseibacillus kribbianus, Lacticaseibacillus absianus and Lacticaseibacillus daqingensis. Strain N149-9T was most closely related to L. parakribbianus YH-lacS6T, having 99.4% 16S rRNA gene, 96.3% pheS, 99.7% rpoA and 98.5% concatenated pheS and rpoA sequence similarities. Strain N149-9T had the highest average nucleotide identity (ANI, 93.5–93.6%) and digital DNA-DNA hybridization (dDDH, 52.4%) values with L. parakribbianus YH-lacS6T, less than the threshold for species demarcation, indicating that it represented a novel species within the genus Lacticaseibacillus. Based upon the data obtained in the present study, a novel species, Lacticaseibacillus suihuaensis sp. nov., is proposed, and the type strain is N149-9T (= CCTCC AB 2024126T = JCM 36998T = LMG 33660T).
